Mission Statement:
The mission of the Faith Formation Programs of our parishes is to assist families in leading their children to faith in Jesus Christ and the Gospel message. We invite children to know, love and serve God, and encourage them to share more deeply in the truths, traditions and celebrations of the Catholic Church. |
Faith Formation Program:
Growing Up Catholic Faith Stories (Crecer en la Fe Catolica: Historias de Fe) is a whole family catechetical series for adults, children, and young teens. The story-based approach focuses on the core of our Catholic faith and provides opportunities for parents to share their faith with their children. The Faith Stories program is organized into three years – God Calls, Jesus Lives, and Spirit with Us. Each year is focused on a different set of stories, with 15 sessions per year. Sessions are based around color family booklets, with editions for young children or ages 11-14.
In 2023-24, we will focus on the work of the Holy Spirit with stories from the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles, and the lives of saints and modern believers. We will host monthly parish-based whole family introductory sessions. Nine story-based sessions will be sent home for families to complete in between the introductory sessions.
A home study program is also available. Fifteen story-based sessions will be sent home for families to complete together in English or in Spanish. The Faith Formation Office will provide support for you to successfully complete the lessons. This is a wonderful way for the family to learn together and grow in faith.

Youth Ministry, 2023-2024
The content of the Youth Ministry Program for grades 7-9 at St. Patrick's Church flows from each Sunday’s Gospel, and youth learn their faith within the rhythms and seasons of the liturgical year.
The program emphasizes social justice, moral reasoning, and service for junior-high students through current-interest articles, life-dilemma stories, and real Christian life examples. Discussions help young teens explore links between today’s issues, the Sunday readings, and their own lives.

Sacramental Preparation - First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
We invite you and your child to prepare with us during the coming months for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
This year we will use a process for preparing your child called Growing Up Catholic - available for two age groups (7-9, 10-14). In this process, YOU become the actual teacher of your child, but we guide you through every step. This is a memorable time of your child’s life – and the memories you make during this preparation period will be cherished for a long time. |
We know that households and families take many shapes today. Therefore,

- If you are a single parent, we invite you and your child to attend together.
- If you’re a married couple, we invite both of you and your child to attend together.
- If one of you is not Catholic, we invite you both nonetheless!
- If you are Catholic but have not been active in parish life yourself lately, we welcome you!
- If you are living in a separated or divorced situation, we invite you to decide whether both parents can be involved. One of the ways you might consider doing this is to connect the absent parent by way of the Growing Up Catholic website which supports the process.
- If there is another significant person involved in the raising of your child whom you feel would benefit your child to be involved, he or she is also welcome!
